President
Rev. Herb Pfiffner assumed the role of Executive Director at Seattle's Union Gospel Mission on August 1, 1989, after serving as the Mission's Director of Community Ministries from 1988-89.
Prior to his arrival in Seattle, Herb served as Executive Director/President of Hospitality House in Minneapolis for 25 years. While at Hospitality House, Herb developed preventative youth programs that impacted nearly 2,000 urban youth each year. His love of youth work and consistent involvement in front-line programs has given him a unique level of expertise in the field of youth development.
In May of 2009, Herb's work in Minnesota and Seattle was recognized when he recieved the Annual Russ Reid Rescue Award for Lifetime Achievement at the AGRM convention in Denver.
President-Elect
Jeff Lilley will serve as president elect for Seattle's Union Gospel Mission until January 1, 2010, when he will assume the role as president.
For the past 26 years, Jeff was employed by Hume Lake Christian Camps, where he served many roles, including most recently executive director. In this role he managed a budget of $18 million, overseeing a ministry that reached approximately 45,000 campers a year. During his tenure he helped create the Joshua Leadership Institute, Hume San Diego, Wildwood (a discipleship camp), and Hume’s expansion into ministries overseas; including Thailand, Papua New Guinea, Japan, Germany, and South Africa. Jeff has been married to his wife, Eugenie, for 28 years, and they have five children, and five grandchildren.
