ONE THING at 3,000 feet
Bob worked for twenty years as a social worker at DSHS and Carol was an elementary school teacher for 32 years, they know how important it is to believe in someone when they are facing life's challenges. Bob has held a commercial pilot's license for 39 years so when he retired he took his love of flying and made it into a special gift to residents of the Mission's Women and Children's Shelter. This Fall Bob and Carol have taken two families up for a flight to remember. In the air Bob allows the children to take the controls and fly the plane if they want to. While on land Bob treats them to lunch at The Spruce Goose Café at the airport.

ONE Bar-B-Q Lunch
The Stubb's "Feed the World Tour" came through Seattle in September and did ONE THING at the Men's Shelter that won't soon be forgotten. The crew of Stubb's Bar-B-Q. cooked and served a full out Bar-B-Q lunch for over 250 guests at the Men's Shelter.
The tour is named for the stated mission of Texas Bar-B-Q legend, C.B. Stubblefield, founder of Stubb's, who often said: "I was born hungry and I want to feed the world."

ONE Lasting Friendship
As a retired nurse with time and talent, May wanted to give back. She now comes once a week, sometimes more often if needed but not to serve meals. May has been volunteering in the Creative Services department. “I couldn’t get it all done with out her,” says Emily Johnson, the Mission’s in house graphic designer. The countless hours of folding, cutting, assembling have added up to many ONE THING's. But more importantly, May has become a faithful friend offering encouragement and support which helps raise needed funds for the homeless and hungry in Seattle.

Country Save's ONE THING Country Save has provided an opportunity for the community to buy laundry soap on behalf of the Mission at a highly discounted rate. And when you wash hundreds of loads of laundry a week you go through a lot of soap. The best part is that you don't need to go to pick it up you can do it all on line. You buy it and Country Save informs the Mission and they go pick it up.
