The Martin Career Education Center
The Martin Career Education Center (MCEC) is designed to serve the men
through career and educational development. The MCEC is an integral
part of the programs at the Men’s Shelter.
The staff works to develop basic education programs through tutoring as
well as the use of NOVA, a computer based interactive self-learning
curriculum. When necessary, the men are assisted in studying for and
taking the GED.
The MCEC also provides the service of a staffing agency
for those in our programs. Men are assisted in setting a career goal,
attaining it, and developing the character necessary to excel in their
job.
The Learning and Education Center
The Learning and Education Center (LEC) is available to all women who
reside at the Women and Children's Shelter.
This computer lab, with 15 workstations, teaches basic office skills
and enables our women to earn their GED and acquire other career
skills.
